Spooky Season

🎃

Spooky Season 🎃

Happy Halloween my favorite boils and ghouls-

I hope everyone is neck deep in horror movie marathons, pumpkin carving and whatever fall snacks get you in the spooky vibe! This month amidst some secret client work I can’t share yet and a lot of meetings I managed to sneak in an ode to Halloween shoot to practice my styling, cookie decorating, dry ice wrangling and hopefully charm a horror lover or two!

Monster hands (on loan from hand model Andy Greene) were monster-ified in the studio by the two of us (which left fake blood, fur and press on nails all over the place!) and though I think we did a good job I have to say the werewolf transformation in American Werewolf In Paris is still my favorite…

Have you got a food photography or product photography project in mind before the holidays descend upon us? Want to share your favorite horror movie recommendation? Ready to come help eat the leftover cookies? Shoot me a message! I’d love to hear all about it!

Hello from the studio!

Hi friends,

Extra, Extra it’s fall!

Well probably somewhere? Here in LA it has been non-stop heatwaves, rolling blackouts and I’ve been pledging my full allegiance to the studio AC…

This month I’m showing off my latest work with forever favorite, the Los Angeles Times. This time they tasked me with photographing some apparel and food products being created by local snack makers to explore the intersection of fashion and food. Here is the link to the full article! We wrangled hoodies, hats, packaged goods, and made some fun stop motion over the course of the day, all shot on location at my studio which is always available for fun absurdity like this. Have you tried any of those snacks? Have a favorite food place t-shirt in regular rotation? Tell me all about it!

This summer also saw more photo friendshipping, which I am always a huge fan of, including a great meeting up with all of these lovely The Luupe photographers and finally met Tracey Woods, photo producer, consultant extraordinaire! Check out our cute group photo!

As fall wraps up and we get those Q3 tax payments out, remember to drop me a line if you need any holiday imagery! I always try to accommodate last minute shoots if possible but planning ahead always gets you a gold star!

Hi friends,

Happy Leo season aka the best season!!!

Thursday was my birthday so I thought for this newsletter I’d share a celebration shoot!

For this set I teamed up with designer and fellow foodie Tsz Chan to work through all our feelings in jello. Maximalism? Check! Order and patterns? Check! Chaos and mess? Obviously check check check! The studio has never seen so much jello! It also finally saw the use of the Zandra Rhodes x Ikea fabric that I snagged one afternoon, the last trace of her collab at our store, which I carried around clutched in my arms like a treasure I couldn’t let out of my sight lest it disappear into a cloud of naturally neon pink smoke. Also if anyone has an Ikea connect wow please let me know, will work for meatballs…

In any case please enjoy our wildly colorful and absurd set + this photo of me and my cake and please let me know if I can be of any use with your food photography needs!

Until next time, happy summer and happy snacking!

July 2022

Hi friends,

July

***

July ***

This month I’m super happy to share a shoot I did with milliner icon Gladys Tamez to cover her collaboration with El Tesoro Tequila. For this shoot she showed off new signature cocktail and a stunning new hat inspired by their beautiful home country of Mexico, honoring artisanal methods. The shoot was done on location in her arts district studio with prop and food styling by Francesca Gabrielle and digital tech assistance from Brooke Vandever. Together we blended the feel of effortless natural light with the control of studio lighting for that timeless quality befitting the luxury of the partnership.

Also on deck to share this month is a project that never saw the light of day from earlier this year from a brand that was launching all clean living, reusable products which you know I am all about! Throwing it out into the universe as I’d love to do more eco-friendly work this year! Whatever impact we can make, we owe it to the world to try.

Finally another Nobu shoot! This one brought me all the way out to Malibu to visit the ocean! How terrible! Go snag one of the Beverly High Rye cocktails of the month if you are in the area!

While the news right now may be bleak (is there such a thing as a good news cycle?) I hope you are having a great start to your summer! Let me know if I can help with anything!

Until next time, happy snacking!
