November Highlights

Hey there-

As we wrap up 2020 (finally!!!) and move into 2021 I’ve been taking stock of what worked in this beyond rocky year, and as November always insists on- the things I am thankful for. The biggest thing I have been thankful for this year are folks like you- our networking, friendships and all these creative partnerships have made navigating a very distant and not very social year as cool as it can be! I appreciate you and would love to reconnect before we jump into 2021! Shoot me a message to say hi or book a face to digital face chat to catch up before this rotten year is kaput!

Now onto the fun stuff! Photos! This month I got to do some great brand work with The Spirit Guild Vodka and SLO Stills Rye for a series I am doing for my new blog Rebecca Can’t Cook, which gave me the awesome opportunity to play with some color themes I don’t typically get to use and experiment with using some styrofoam blocks I was given. I’m always striving to be resourceful in my work so I figured it was worth a shot! Take a look below. Also on the theme of being resourceful, Wonderful Machine did this really lovely write up of the process of my first cookbook project and a lot of these lessons can be applied to remote shooting now! October Highlights

Hello!

We made it through election week! Phew, what a week it was! I know most of us are resting a little easier now that we have a result but in case you didn’t catch it on my IG I made this little image to encourage us on and celebrate that we get a chance to participate in this process- even if it can be a stressful one! Did you get a pizza on election night? I sure did…

So many alphabet letters were sorted for this mini project!

Anyway, I know I’m a little late to the monthly recap but given all the aforementioned world news, my brain has just become “un-soup” so better late than never right?

In October I got to team up with Ghost Tequila for a special Día de los Muertos shoot, hung out with the Dunkin Donuts Ghost pepper donut for extra ghosting (read about it on my new blog!) and shot a pile of things I can’t show yet including a truly beautiful wine ad so I’m showing you all a special test for a special gin too!

September Highlights

Hi there,

I hope you’re hanging in there with the increasingly wild ride that is 2020. This newsletter is all about the beverages so if you need a drink I formally give you the thumbs up!

Before we get to new work, my big news for the month is beyond finding me on Wonderful Machine you can now find me on Production Paradise as well. They specialize in targeted digital publications to show off their photographer’s work so keep an eye out for me in the upcoming Showcase Magazine Los Angeles!

I also got some great news from the folks over at the Food Photo Affair- I’m an exhibition finalist for this absurd over pour image I created! Cross your fingers!

Finally some extra wonderful news!

The modified safe studio beverage shots I have been working on for the last few months with the Makers and Allies team are starting to be spotted in the wild so I can finally show you some of these no longer top secret shots. I don’t want to bombard you with a zillion images so this is just a taste of the good stuff! Many more shots and brands will be featured on the site in the next few weeks! Enjoy!

August Highlights

Hi everyone,

My big news for the month is you can catch me now on Wonderful Machine! I’m working hard on ways to show everyone what I can do over here from my home studio and their Creative in Place page is a really inspiring glimpse into what photographers are creating outside of the traditional studio space, a page I am proud to be a part of. I’ve also launched a new prop section to this site to make it easier to work with new clients remotely. You can see my surfaces, most of my vintage glassware and flatware collection and more plates then you ever wanted to see in your life! I’m planning on adding to that as I collect new finds so check back but this should help us continue to work while prop sourcing and mail estimates can be tricky.

Along with my new listing on Wonderful Machine, they are encouraging their photographers to stay creative with prompts. If you get their emails maybe you will recognize the bottom few photos on this post from their “Back to School” newsletter!

Also included are some new shots from a shoot with The Ox La cafe over in Koreatown which serves just about the best Japanese flash brew you can find! Check them out the work below!
