Fall Highlights

Hi friends,

Since the studio was finally ready to shoot in this summer, life has been a blur! Some of the wild things I’ve gotten to shoot include: men’s shaving and skin care products, a whole line of cannabis products, a brand new premium vodka, cereal kits, adult candles, nootropic supplements, and many others are keeping me so busy I have sadly been neglecting you, my wonderful newsletter crew. So I wanted to pop in quickly and share some exciting news…

I got to host my dream publication in the studio - the Los Angeles Times Food section! Check out my photos from our date with dates below or pop over to their site to learn how to make any of these beautiful recipes!

Next month I’ll be up in Napa at the Food Photo Affair food photography conference where I am a contest finalist for one of my weird wine shots! Wish me luck or say hi if you attend! Onto the photos….

June + July Highlights

Ellory Smith poses for a portrait in Koreatown during a break in sandwich production for the community kitchen she runs to help alleviate hunger in Los Angeles. She and her volunteer crew hand out hundreds of sandwiches, soup, and healthy snacks to anyone in need. Photos are part of an ongoing project where I seek out female and nonbinary food makers using food for good.

Hi friends,

This summer had a rocky start- the new studio construction project experienced a big set back that means it will be ready for use a little later than expected (follow along on my stories for updates) but we are back on track to wrap by the end of summer so stay tuned for the unveiling!

Construction aside, most of my favorite 2021 shoots are still under wraps so please enjoy some new stop motion work including one of the GIFs I did for non-alcoholic brand Seedlip, a sneak peak of my new ongoing project on female and NB food activists and some work with a CA winery. I was also voted one of the top (10) product photographers in LA by Peerspace! How nice!

May Highlights

Hi friends,

This month has been a blur!

If you’ve tuned into my stories or reels on Instagram you’ll know I’ve been busy moving house AND studio!

In the coming weeks my brand new home studio will be completely renovated and ready to go for onsite shooting, remote work and clients will have access to my full prop library! So far we’ve cut out windows, skylights, rafters, and are adding plumbing for a fully functional kitchen sink set, a gorgeous set of french doors, an edible flower garden and a big ole’ fridge just for all our food photo needs!

I’ll be taking on new clients for shoots starting late June!

In the meantime forgive me for not updating everyone on new work my brain is mush! Hopefully next month I can share some of the work I shot with frozen food company Cadence Kitchen and amazing non-alcoholic brand Seedlip!

April Highlights

Hi friends,

This has been a colorful month in photos! Got to work with local agency Snack Machine on life long favorites Cup Noodles and Top Ramen, create some fun toy plane photos with Wonderful Machine and help a small business prepare to launch with some photos of their beautiful cakes and muffins!

I’ve also started getting more requests for hand models so I wanted to let everyone know I’ve compiled a talent database to pull from with references, rates and contacts for all the talent we might need!
